| Match Report: |
It has been 10 seasons since the untimely death of County Hall wicketkeeper Graham Rowley, and this 45 over match, the annual fixture against Hertingfordbury, was played for The Graham Rowley Trophy.
On a very hot day, Hertingfordbury won the toss and elected to bat. Their innings was dominated by the big hitting Peter Rider who scored a magnificent unbeaten 152. He was ably supported by Hertingfordbury’s no.8 Dwyer who contributed 62 runs in Hertingfordbury’s total of 287.
In reply, County Hall found themselves struggling on 56-6 before Chris Barnaby joined Andy Bartlett at the crease. They put on a County Hall record 6th wicket partnership of 167 to put C.H. within striking distance of the Hertingfordbury total. But the dismissal of Bartlett for a marvellous 126 and the subsequent dismissal of Barnaby for 53, put an end to any hopes of County Hall regaining the trophy, and they were eventually bowled out for 248 with 5 balls left of their allotted 45 overs.
