| Match Report: |
County Hall played host to low flying Knebworth IV at the Leahoe, hoping to get their faltering mid season back on track.
Having lost the toss Hall were asked to bowl on a sultry day and the decision looked a good one for Knebworth as they got off to a flier despite some variable bounce with the new ball.
Maslanka however used guile and a mixture of medium pace leg spin and off-spin to unsettle the openers bowling Painter (17) and having Turner (26) caught and bowled. The backbone of tehi innings however was provided by Bodser who batted patiently for his 84, hitting the boundary regularly and being ably supported by Woods (28).
Bodser was eventually run out pushing for a run that was never there having recently watched Bayford set off for a third just as Wilkinson threw to the ball to the keeper to whip off the bails leaving himself stranded.
Man of The Match Maslanka continued to take wickets, bowling an impressive 26 overs taking 6 for 87. Supported by the ever efficient Brown (2 for 47 off 16). Knebworth reaching 202 all out in their 53rd over.
In reply County Hall got off to a much slower start, and at one point it looked like the number of overs would overtake the score, with 8 maidens in the first 14 overs. Opener Bygrave reaching 22 off 29 overs before being adjudged LBW
Only Matt Barnaby (24) looked truly comfortable in the early until he was given LBW almost before the ball had reached him.
Sharp and Marsh put on a rapid 50, but the damage was done as Hall were reduced to 122 for 6.
Fishburn (23) Brown and Wilkinson ensuring that Hall gained some batting points although were unable to hold on for the draw, finishing on 144 all out with just 1 over to go
