| Match Report: |
Having won the toss County Hall II choose to bowl first against local rivals Wormley. The decision looking a good one as Wormley were reduced to 12 for 3 thanks to loose shots and tight bowling from Melisi (3 for 28) and Williamson.
However Pepper (22) and Hannah (64) got the innings back on track. Hannah playing exceptionally well for his runs, hitting straight and riding his luck as he found the gaps with some loose aerial shots, until the ever economical Mick Brown (2 for 21) removed them both.
Driver (47) decided that anything straight needed to go through the leg side and constantly stepped across his stumps to find gaps on the leg side before trying it once too often and going LBW to Maslanka (3 for 16).
Wormley some how managing to get to 192 from their 53 overs.
In reply County Hall knew that due to a weakened batting line up the openers would have to produce something special, however only Rob Mitchell got in to double figures, batting beautifully to record 78 before a tired shot saw him bowled.
Pepper did the damage with the ball (5 for 45) removing 5 of the top 6 batsmen. It was left to Maslanka, Brown, Barnaby and Williamson to see County Hall through to the end for a hard fought draw, finishing on 156 for 9.
