| Match Report: |
County Hall II's played host to Bushey II's on a cold and overcast Saturday at the Leahoe.
Having lost the toss County Hall were asked to bowl on a dry looking wicket that did not look like it would offer the bowlers much hope.
The Bushey openers made it look easy with a mixture of poor fielding, dismal bowling and a lightening fast outfield contributing to their quick start.
Williamson (2 for 52) eventually making the breakthrough removing Hussein for 32. However the runs kept coming for Bushey and Ahmed (51) and Pearson (78) kept the scoreboard ticking over at a reasonable rate.
However once Shah and Williamson again had removed these two, the lack of depth in the batting line-up became evident as the run rate slowed and the wickets started to fall regularly.
Good work from Marsh with a direct hit run out and Ben Crate with a stumping off Marsh's bowling restricted Bushey to 214 for 8 off their 53 overs.
In reply County Hall once again got off to a poor start, losing Bartlett early on. Pankit Shah (33) and Wayne Langton (49) set about constructing a partnership, with Pankit looking to get a move on and Langton playing the steady graceful innings that he is becoming renowned for.
Wickets continued to fall and it was left to Nick Marsh (57 n/o) and Sam Jones (47) to accelerate the run rate with some big hitting and their fair share of luck putting on a partnership of 93 in just 11 overs. Once Jones' wicket fell trying to launch another 6 it was left to Marsh to finish off the game with a 6 of his own and 6 overs to spare.
