| Match Report: |
County Hall II welcomed Botany Bay II to the Leahoe this weekend, both having started the season brightly and remaining two of the three teams with an unbeaten record in 2010.
Having won the toss County Hall elected to bat on what looked like a good batting surface. However the tight lines and occasional movement off the pitch of Banerjee (3 for 30) and McCabe (4 for 32) proved too much for County Halls top order as they limped to 43 for 5 - only Rob Mitchell (22) reaching double figures for the top 5 batsmen.
Once again it was left to Melisi (44) and Marsh (37) to rebuild the innings. Waiting patiently for the bad ball and putting it away.
County Hall finished on 133, a score that could have proved challenging with good bowling.
Botany Bay lost an early wicket, but never really looked in trouble - punishing the 2 or 3 bad balls that were dished up to them each over and running well between the wickets due to some lacklustre fielding.
Richardson (84 n/o) raced to his half century and when Phillips fell to the guile of Marsh it was left to Banerjee to smash the winning runs. Botany Bay completing their run chase in a little over 17 overs.
