| Match Report: |
A prolonged heavy downpour during and after tea ended this game prematurely after Exiles had toiled in the heat for 53 overs to restrict County Hall to 189-8. With both openers out cheaply, it was left to John Schlaepfer (79) and Andrew Szemiako (36) to lead the counter attack. This they did with aplomb, scoring at more than 4 runs an over.
The combination of Harit Patel (4-47) and Adrian Browne then exerted increasing pressure as wickets fell and the run rate dropped. Schlaepfer made Exiles pay for several missed chances by anchoring the innings, whilst Simon Hibbert and a last over cameo from Mike Jones enabled the visitors to close on 189-8 before the heavens opened.
