| Match Report: |
Mark Batchelor likes bowling at North Mymms. After taking the first 4 wickets last season to set up a County Hall victory, Batchelor was the hero once again, this time taking 8 North Mymms wickets for just 21 runs off 13 overs bowled. At one stage it looked as though Batchelor might take all ten wickets. He took the first six as the North Mymms top order found no answer to the County Hall bowling wizard.
Mike Jones bowled Mymms's no.8 Davies to spoil the Batchelor party, although Batchelor did add two further wickets before Jones secured North Mymm's fate by taking the final wicket.
Mymms's total of 59 was in reply to County Hall's 239-7. The visitors had got off to a solid start when Adrian Devine (54) and John Schlaepfer (40) put on 79 for the first wicket, and although losing their way somewhat in the middle part of the innings, some big hitting from Jimmy Hassle (44) at the end enabled County Hall to post a challenging total, a total that was to prove far too much for North Mymms.
