NatWest CricketForce 2010 a Success!
A big thank you to everyone who turned up to help on Sunday 28 th March 2010. We had hoped to get a few jobs done around the club in preparation for the coming season, but due to numbers and enthusiasm we managed to do more than we had expected.
After Martin registered the club with only three weeks to go before the event we were unsure what to expect but were impressed by the turn out! A fair few club members, partners, friends and children all turned up, donned promotional t-shirts and, spurred on by Victoria and Laura's bacon sandwiches, set about sprucing up the pavilion and sight screens.
We managed to build a new kit box (for which a massive thank you goes to Andy Mumford for all his hard work), paint the sight screens (Winston, Neil, Olivia, Paul, Simon, Bigman), power wash the showers (thanks Sheena, not many people volunteering for that job!), clean the walls in the changing rooms, clean all the tables and chairs, and all the floors (Tre, Hollie, Laura and Olivia made the place sparkle to within an inch of it's life!), clean the toilets (Martin you are a brave man!), clean the kitchen and paint the posts outside the pavilion.
Once again, thanks to everyone who turned up and gave up most of their day for the club: Sheena, Tre & Hollie; Martin, Victoria & Luke; Barty, Matthew & Jamie; Simon, Helen, Evie & Jo; Gav; Mumfs; Laura; Gravesy; Neil & Olivia; Winston; Paul Sapsford; Big Man & Monty; Jill & Mick.
The weather was on our side, and it was a beautiful day. Let's just hope it stays that way for the start of the season!
Same again next year anyone?!
